Pilot Hill Private Estate —
Gravel-to-Asphalt Road Conversion
Engineered road construction for steep foothills terrain, transforming a high-maintenance gravel access into a durable, all-weather asphalt surface.
Sector: Residential & Rural | Location: Pilot Hill, CA | Service: Gravel-to-Asphalt Conversion
PROJECT BREAKDOWN
From Challenge to Completion
This private estate required a long-term solution for a steep gravel access road that was experiencing recurring erosion, washouts, and surface instability during seasonal rainfall events. The existing condition created unreliable access and required constant maintenance.
Allstate implemented a full-depth roadway improvement strategy beginning with regrading and correction of slope geometry to establish controlled drainage across the full alignment.
The roadway was then stabilized with a reinforced aggregate base designed to perform under steep grade conditions. A high-density asphalt surface was installed to improve durability, reduce maintenance demands, and ensure year-round access across fluctuating foothill temperatures and runoff conditions.
